Which Celebrities Do Young People Look Up To for Beard Transplant Inspiration?

A man with a beard: Sexy, intelligent, strong, rugged, or sophisticated? How about all of the above! Let’s face it– facial hair is the ultimate symbol of masculinity, something that a lot of young men aspire to. And popular culture today provides a smorgasbord of role models for guys who are growing their own. The question is, whose beard do you and your partner think would look good on you?

Depending on your facial characters and the type of image you want to portray, you can get some great ideas from your hirsute brothers in Hollywood. Let’s take a look at a few of them!

The “Take Charge” Kind of Man

A firm jaw, piercing eyes, and solid shoulders are perfect complements for a beard like Henry Cavill’s. Like most of the others listed here, he was considered the “sexiest man alive,” by one or more polls. The British actor who captivated attention in The Man of Steel, Cavill was hot even when he was clean shaven; now he’s ramped up the manliness a notch with a solid full box beard. Another “sexiest man” is athlete-turned-actor David Beckman, whose beard rates right up there with Cavill’s. These guys just ooze masculinity.

A Touch of Class

The salt-and-pepper look is hot, too. Men still well into their prime are letting a little grey show up in their beards, actors like Jon Hamm of the Mad Men fame; actor, director and producer Ben Affleck, who’s virtually a household name; the once smooth-faced heartthrob Chris Pine; and we’re even beginning to see hints of grey show up in the impeccably-trimmed beard on Drake. Far from making these dudes look old, the silver touch only adds zest to their youthful appeal. We’ll also throw in Zac Effron, who mixes it up with a dark beard contrasted with bright bleached hair to create a, well, eclectic look.

On The Rugged Side

For a more outdoorsy image, several popular men come to mind. The iconic Jason Momoa should be at the top of this list with his rugged beard-and-hair image. To a much lesser extent, Bradley Cooper presents a slightly rough-around-the edges appearance (although he still looks hot in a tux, as does Zach Galifianakis). And the on-screen characters depicted by Chris Hemsworth of the Roadhouse remake and Wolverine’s Hugh Jackman come across a bit on the wild side with their facial fur.

Smoldering Sensuality

To tone it down a bit, let’s look at some guys whose beards go perfectly with their piercing eyes and subtle smiles. Jake Gyllenhaal fits this bill perfectly, especially with some of the roles he’s played, such as Jack Twist on Brokeback Mountain. Liam Hemsworth, the younger brother of Chris who played passionate roles in Hunger Games and in Australian soap operas, can cast quite the gaze above his youthful furry face. And let’s not forget the neatly-bearded singer Ricky Martin, who even though he’s living “La Vida Loca” can silently speak volumes with those eyes.

And the list goes on and on, with honorable mentions to Justin Timberlake, Chris Evans, Tom Ford, Mark Ruffalo, Michael B. Jordan, LeBron James, and Chris Pratt, just to name a few. Each of these men projects his own essence of masculinity with the style of his facial hair—beard, stache, sideburns, and even his eyebrows. And you can do the same.

Beard Transplants Are Definitely “In”

If you’re having some difficult getting your beard to grow just the way you want it to, you’re not alone. According to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), facial hair transplants worldwide increased by 121% in a five-year period leading up to 2020. And, although Hollywood types are hesitant to admit to having cosmetic procedures, if you really follow them, you’ll see what appear to be before-and-after pictures–and those tell the story.
